To improve this situation in 2014, the Panama Bilingual Program was initiated, where 8,739 teachers and professors of the English specialty were sent to perfect their teaching methodology in different universities in English-speaking countries. From there, the following question arises: Did the teachers who traveled abroad through the Panama Bilingual Program receive adequate training to improve the teaching-learning for students in our country? This study surveyed English teachers and professors who participated in the Panama Bilingual Program and the results were ambivalent. The participants indicated that they learned the use of teaching tools SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol, or classroom observation model), the use of images to enhance learning, "leadership" in the classroom, "Developing teaching", "Lesson planning", "Reading techniques", Inverted Classroom, games, among other techniques, to improve listening and reading comprehension. They then pointed out that much of what they learned could be applied more cogently and effectively as long as students were immersed in an English-speaking environment. They also revealed that the classrooms where they attended as observers had all the comforts and work tools such as overhead projectors, internet and sufficient space which are not reflected in public schools in Panama.
