ESTUDIO ETNOBOTÁNICO DE LAS PLANTAS UTILIZADAS COMO MEDICINA TRADICIONAL PANAMÁ, 2019.
The main objetive of this research work was to evidence the knowledge or the lack of knowledge related to the use of plants as traditional medicine for the alternative treatment of health problems the population located in the community of Siekin, in the Teribe region, during the year 2019. This study took a period of twelve months, and for its analysis, some quantitative and qualitative tools were required.

The results obtained with the application of these techniques show: that the articulation of the four (4) modalities presented for the treatment of health affections conjugate with the proposed dimensions for the plants employed as traditional medicine at the moment of weighing them, and consequently, are listed as reference to be considered for the elaboration and application in the alternative treatment of the population’s health affections. The results also show that, while using plants as part of daily life as traditional medicine for the alternative treatment of health affections, the study group prescribes a health system. And, although the results do not respond to a decision in itself, these do obey to a vision and to a socio-cultural valoration to satisfy sanitary needs related to those diseases that constitute a main problem for the population of an indigenous community in a rural area.
