A Case of Prolonged Ischemic (Low flow) Priapism

Abstract

Priapism is a condition of unwanted painful penile erection without sexual stimulus or after the stimulus has ended and remain for more than 4 hours. Overall an uncommon condition but low flow, high flow and stuttering(recurrent) priapism are three different types with different modalities of treatment and outcomes, with low flow being the commonest variety. Common in men in their 30’s and mostly idiopathic. We present a case report of 35 years old male with prolonged ischaemic priapism presented to us in Northwest General Hospital, Peshawar and treated with t shunt procedure.
