“Age-related brain disease and neuropathological changes”
Scope:
This Special Issue aims to provide a broader view and highlight recent developments in brain aging and related research. With the rapid increase in the number of elderly, the heavy burden of age-related brain diseases becomes a significant global public health challenge. Investigating risk and protective factors that influence cognitive and functional status in the elderly and relating the cognitive and functional abilities of well-characterized individuals to neuropathological findings are crucial in understanding age-related neurological disorders. We now invite reviews and original articles related to age-related brain diseases and neuropathology research to this Special Issue. We welcome manuscripts focusing on (not limited to):
- human clinical
- biomarker
- imaging and neuropathological studies
- causes, mechanisms and consequences of brain aging
- vascular brain injury
- neurodegenerative disease
