Abstract

The article explores the various facets of child abuse, its effects and the current prevalence rate in India. The article also looks at how professionals view the malaise of child abuse in the society. The country has made numerous effects in ensuring proper interventions once an abuse occurs. Instead of creating systems and programmes that address the issue after the occurrence of abuse, the article proposes a paradigm shift wherein prevention is the thrust and each member of the community is looped in create systems that disallow the prevalence of child abuse in the communities.
